"A few years ago, I lost one of my best friends in a car accident. In the middle of the night he was coming home from dinner with his wife at his side. They were coming back to their four-month baby who spent the weekend with his grandparents, when their car left the road. My friends were killed instantly, leaving their child orphaned. It happened on the weekend of Father's Day.
Becoming a father has profoundly changed my view of the world. This experience made me put a lot of things into perspective and opened my eyes to what is really essential for me.
By starting a family and becoming responsible for another human being, I saw my balance center move. I could not imagine a life without my children. They became my priority, my first concern. Even if becoming a parent also generates morbid anguish ... "And if something happened to my child, how would I react? "
Friendship, mourning, commitment, loneliness, responsibility of a child ... Here are the ingredients of this short film through which I wish to explore how someone prepares, both psychologically and physically, for the care of a child. A path all the more dangerous when the child is not your own. In the film, this preparation of the heroine goes through solitude and silence. A temporary escape from the world that allows one to approach, more closely, the introspection of the character of Iris, facing the most important decision of her life."
